Off to Europe...

Hello All...

So today I'm heading to Europe with a group of close friends for a much needed vacation... We are flying to Amsterdam, then training to Munich and Prague... Why Europe in late September you ask... Well it's Oktoberfest!!! That's right, the hallowed time of year when those crazy Germans get together in tents to celebrate the coming of October with liters of beer and warm pretzels... I know what you're thinking, how could Gary possibly stay on point diet wise while on vacation in Europe? We shall see... I know I can make good choices while there... I mean, Europeans lose weight all the time, right? I will obviously drink beer in the tents and will be sure to stick to wine or vodka otherwise...

As of moments ago I'm down 129 pounds weighing in at 255, that is actually up a pound from last friday, but down 7 for the past few weeks... I am still 100% motivated and loving life... I wish all of you could be in Europe with us, but you can't...

The last couple weeks...

Yo...

So 2 weeks ago I weighed in down 5 pounds for the week putting me at 261... I figured I must have been a bit dehydrated or something as 5 pounds at this point is way high... I think I was correct as last friday I weighed in down 0 for the week... So I figure I lost, but put on some water... I do have to tell y'all even though the logical part of my brain said, "it's all good, you've done awesome so far" the other side of my brian took a while to adjust to that fact... Mostly because it was my first week in over 7 months where I didn't have a positive result... Again, logically I knew it was all good, but emotions are what they are... So I could have gone one of 2 ways, either I get de-motivated and give up (wasn't gonna happen) or I stay strong... And let me tell you, I picked the wrong day to plan a Dodgers outing... Do you know they sell a 2 pound pretzel with 3 different dipping sauces at Dodger Stadium? They do and one of my friends got it, but I did not partake... Nor did I have any beer or hotdogs... I had some peanuts (fatty but not too bad for you) and water and had a great time...

I ate good over the holiday weekend even though I had/attended 3 BBQs... Didn't work out until a hike on Monday, but let me tell you it was an awesome hike!!! Hit the gym a few more times after that and weighed in this AM down 3 for the week... That's down 126 so far and I now weigh 258 pounds... I'm in the 250's people... It's really strange having friends that I don't really consider "fat guys" that I now weigh less than... You know who you are...

So the moral of this story is (as my friend Henry would say)... Hang in there!!!
